you should go. Funerals aren't all about respect for the dead, they're mostly about helping the living get over the loss.
And your presence will help the other people there do that.

So go.

They're also about the celebration of the persons life. I suggest you go. You won't regret it in the future. When my gramma died I wanted to go, but didnt, and it stuill hurts.

Well, I think you should go to support your family, if not for yourself. They clearly want you to be there.

I've been to a few funerals in my day, and I always feel better when I get to grieve with loved ones. Then, at the reception afterwards, everyone talks about the good times, and it really makes you appreciate the person you lost. I dunno. You should go, at least to the reception afterwards.

The last funeral I went to was from my great aunt. We didn't have a reception after, we just went over to her house and cleaned out 70 years worth of junk. Well it wasn't all junk she did have a good amount of gold and a kick ass Grandfather Clock.

I've never gone to a funeral. Not even my Grandma's (she died in Colombia and only my mom went).

To tell you the truth, it never really bothered me that I didn't go to her funeral. It's not like she would know, and it's not like not going to her funeral is a sign of disrespect or unaffection.

Well yeah, but your family knows you didn't go.
But you weren't expected to. Sounds like Yazz might be somewhat expected to.

Sounds a bit like peer pressure to me.

my dad an i live in a different state to the rest of the family, and i had never really had much to do with my grandparents or much of the rest of the family really, theres going to be about 30 family members going to the funeral even if i dont, i dont regret losing anyone, im happy because they had a chance to live, anything after the fact is irrelevent to me, thats probably the reason why i dont like funerals.
and you do know my name is Zac right?
