So they revived a property from the seventies
But they couldn't quite do it instantly
So they made a countdown in several books
The Infinite Crisis was starting to cook

And the Justice League they got disbanded
And all magic users got reprimanded
By the Spectre who came down from on high
And the OMACs got built by Brother I
But they're not the Kirby ones you've come to know
They're blue and faceless with no eyes or nose
And the original firestorm is now dead

An Identity Crisis soon came to be

Now the new JLA, they were called the "Buddies"
Like the Great Lakes Avengers, they were kind of nutty
They had the Blue Beetle and Booster Gold
Green Fire with flames and Ice with cold
The green lantern you all know as Guy
And Elongated Man ralph Dibn-eye
They're all here to save the day

Then the Blue Devil, and Detective Chimp and
Captain Marvel (who is not a wimp) and
The Enchantress and Zantana and
the Phantom Stranger and Black Adam and
Ragman, nightshade, and Doc Fate
Black Alice, Black orhid, and the shadowpact,
Deadman, freedom beast, Captain Marvel III,
Rex the Wonder Dog and Billy's sister, Mary
Came out of nowhere and into this sector
With the intent of fighting the spectre
they kicked his butt all the way back to heaven
In a limited series of one less than seven

The Crisis raged on for quite a time
Characters were killed without reason or rhyme

I want to read Infinite Crisis eventually, but I have to wait for them to release all the Batman archives before it. I'm pretty sure they skipped over the silver age, so it won't be for a while.

I usually try to follow DC, but Marvel and Ultimate Marvel are too interesting for me to jump ship and put my attention somewhere else.

I'd only bother reading Marvel for X-Men (not spinoffs). And possibly Spiderman. I don't really like the concept of Ultimate Marvel all that much.
