Yes.
and I'm aware that other superheroes were used for propaganda purposes during wartime as well, but never as blatantly and constantly as Capitan.

Funny, since Superman was created by a Canadian.
Superman was not made for propaganda purposes (he was released in 1938). He just became more popular during the wartime when they started exploiting him to be Mr. USA 3000.
Captain America, however - was made and became extremely popular in 1941. Any coincidence?
Fuck knows why he's still around, the war's been over for a good 60 years.

| Ultimate Marvel handles Captain America's character so much better than in the regular imprint. You know what? Ultimate Marvel is just better, I think; there's a refreshing lack of magic space aliens. The only downside comes from the lame pop culture references that the writers throw into dialogue. |

Actually, Superman was released 'cause a couple of Jewish college kids realized they were a great writing/drawing team, so they thought up a superhero to have something to put their comic skillz to work with. |
