I always think my life sucks, then I read the posts on this forum and realize that people have so much more troubled lives than I do. I hate to say it, but it makes me feel better, if only for the fact that it could be a whole lot worse and it isn't.

I took a really really big dump one time and it didn't clog the toilet. It was amazing.

...dude.

I remember as a five-year-old trying to jump over the lawnmower. I didn't, and I remember a lot of it, from my mom spraying me with the hose to sitting down with my legs in that way I can do, with the burn up. Fun times.

Of all my memories, the thing that stands out above them all is a lesson taught by a previous social studies teacher of mine by the name of Mr. Lukens. As far as quirky teachers go, he was by far the quirkiest. The man had a Gumbi collection. His entire room was decorated with Gumbi memorabilia. From the ceiling hung little Gumbi and Pokey figurines and I believe he still has a Gumbi shade against his window. Anyway, we were currently in the Mesopotamia unit when we walked into class one day to find a giant ziggaraut constructed out of craft paper and desks sitting in the middle of the room. Class started normally as well. Mr. Lukens began teaching us about the levels of the ziggaraut. He made a point to emphasize the sanctity of the top level. The mesopotamians believed that their god dwelled there. So, in order to accurately demonstrate what this was like, he told us all to get up and stand in the front of the class. He then exited and reentered wearing a bathrobe and carrying a cooler of dry ice. A string was also suspended from the top of the ziggaraut and was rigged up with a pully system (we were instructed not to touch it). At first he made a big show out of calling forth the god from the ziggaraut. He had this awesome, dramatic music playing and everything. Then, he took the dry ice and stuck it in the top. As the steam began to rise, he moved over and began to pull on the string suspended from the top. What happened next was truly priceless and could only happen in a class like that. Gumbi began to rise slowly from the top. With the dry ice effect, the dramatic music, and Mr. Lukens worshipping Gumbi with extravagant bows, it was truly a hilarious scene.

And that, is my most memorable moment.
