I'm not trying to start a flame war, Sharp. I did flame you, and I said as much. I called you retarded because you are most definitely wrong, and you'd have to be retarded not to see it. You said that Lordi and and GWAR were "not comparable". Let's see...
1. Monster costumes.
2. Songs about being monsters.
3. Theatrical live shows with pyrotechnics.
4. Hard rock / heavy metal music.
5. Badass metal-type logos.
There we go. I just compared them. I didn't say that Lordi sucked, or that they were better or worse than GWAR. I said that the two bands are similar, and they clearly are. Just because you love Lordi doesn't mean they're unique. Get over it and stop being such a blind fanboy. Lordi is similar to GWAR, Slipknot, and KISS.
Plus, Lordi and GWAR's music is not all that different. It never occurred to you that I might fucking own two Lordi albums, huh? Like, I bought them. At a store. I feel that I can safely say that Lordi's music comfortably fits into the realm of heavy metal. |

I just don't get why you keep saying you don't want to start a flame war, and then keep trying to. Yes, they can be compared, they're both a style of hard rock, they both wear costumes. Perhaps I was off saying they can't be compared, it's not illegal to dislike criticism of something you like. I haven't however, been going into detail trying blindly and desperately to disprove your point, it's just that I've seen so many blind GWAR fans saying lordi is a complete ripoff of GWAR, that it starts to tick me off to an irrational point when they're compared at all. There. I did nothing to dispute your argument, I admitted my own faults, and I explained my behavior. If you're looking for a long argument, go elsewhere. |
