I didn't know it was on until it'd started. Bring back Jon Stewart.

Is Departed really that good or are they just rewarding Scorcese for being cool?

And I've wanted to see Internal Affair, the Hong Kong movie it was based on, for years, seriously. It has been on my amazon wish list since July 19, 2005. I should actually buy it but I like seeing a clip or having something to refer to other than a little blurb faintly remembered from years ago D:

No, it really is that good.

The Oscar hype over those Mexicans is riding pretty high, as well.

What the fuck is the movie that won Best Foreign Film, and why isn't it titled "Pan's Labyrinth"?

Activists for pointless causes make me laugh because they're wasting their life on it.

what do you think?

you know, getting people to care about the environment isnt that farfetched of a cause...

well yeah, considering that even conservatives are starting to lean towards more environmental causes. fuel-efficient cars are more popular than ever, and people are actually thinking about alternatives to waste and fuel. hell, we're talking about it aren't we?

Well. I will say this. If they can save the environment without inconveniencing people, then it'll go over well. Till then it'll just be talk. Because fuck public transit.

Well, I sat through a two day symposium on energy science, technology and policy that focused on facing the problem of climate change. Among the speakers were representatives from major car companies, energy companies, and universities, along with the U.S. Secretary of energy, all of who admitted to the problems humans are inflicting on the enviornment. A large portion of the discussion was how a lot of large companies around the world are proposing plans to lower carbon emissions, and almost every speaker showed the same graph that illustartes how if business continues as usual, the earth will be drastically different, with possible irreversible damage, within the next fifty years.
