I think pogs were a great invention.

if memory serves, it's like marbles, cept you stack the pogs and then nail them as hard as you can with a heavier one, seeing how many you can scatter outside the safe zone.

something like that
I dunno.

I played it like tiddly winks.

How the hell do you play that?

You take a pog, and then slide it off of the edge of another pog to send it flying, and try to get it into the points zone, or into a cup or on a plate, or any other target.

That sounds like marbles.

what? With marbles you knock other marbles at each other to get them out of the circle and then you can claim them.

Yup, that's how you play alright. I usually played that you had to get them facedown, though.

I still have all my pogs somewhere. I also have some Marvel Comics slammers. \m/

Wikipedia...

Yeah. I remember my slammer for the pogs: about an eighth-inch thick, inch and a half wide, and made of solid steel. You had better believe that when that thing hit the pile all of those little circles flipped the right way...

Man, I remember pogs from like... 5th grade, way back in 1994, or something. All the boys used to play them at recess, until they got banned from my school, since it was considered "gambling" or some crap. I always thought this was really funny, considering I went to school in Southern Nevada, where the only thing people do for recreation is gamble.

Regardless, the coolest thing I remember about Pogs are the Del Taco commercials, which my west coast friends here might remember. "Del Taco's got the pogs, pogs..."

Yeah, it was all pretty freaking awesome.

I had pogs, though I was sort of late on the trend and I remember going to a store where they had this big basket-thing with tons of pogs, and it may or may not have been clearance. Who knows.

I wish I still had mine, but most of my cool stuff got jacked at people's houses. I don't know what happened to the rest.

Oh... my... god.

I totally forgot about this craze! I remember playing with these in Acapulco and Ecuador with my cousin. We used to battle with them and shit. How great.

I am reviving this thread because I just thought about / bought pogs.

I have no one to play with. Devastated.
