that was my cue to stop being any bit serious.

Sexy hierarchy of urban transportation:
1. Fixed gear bicycles
2. Road bicycles
3. Mopeds
4. Longboards
5. Mass transit
6. Mountain bicycles
7. Motorcycles
8. Cars |
Why are mountain bicycles so far down? | Mountain bikes, while just as utilitarian as other bikes (especially more so in shitty weather), aren't very sexy. Big and bulky, most of the time made for comfort rather than off-roading, they're pretty much SUVs. |
Style over substance, eh mike? | A fixed-gear road bike is going to be so much less of a hassle in terms of maintenance because there is only one gear, and you don't need brakes. Suspension systems are also wholly unnecessary in a city, and are just dead weight. Fixed-gear riding also works very well in urban situations because you have direct control over your bike. But still,
VS.

| I'm just pulling your "chain". Fixed gears are sexy as hell and efficient. |

IROs are nice fucking bikes. I'm slightly more partial to the Bianchi Pista, though.
Throw some deep-v's on that!
Of course, the best kinds of bikes ever are cheap ones made from old Japanese and British frames from the 70s. |

I hate those handles, though. What happened to the horizontal bar? _________________

Bkes are totally customizable to fit the riders needs, and there are a whole range of different shaped handle bars for you to put on your bike. The pictured drop bars are usually a common stock fixture for any road-oriented bicycle so you can ride with more than one riding position for easier climbing and sprinting, but you can totally put horizontal bars on your bike. A lot of people do, like this guy.
Personally, I prefer bullhorn bars.
Never mind the weird frame. |

I wonder if inherent motion is possible. That needs looking into. _________________ Nothing here yet |
